Much Needed Comfort

Reading through Psalm 139 a couple times this morning brought some much needed comfort. These verses  directly answer a ton of questions I have about God. About His relationship with me.

While reading, I was prompted to ask whether there was anything in my heart that was hidden or dishonest. The thought initially scared me. Whatever is there, God will surely know it. Do I really wanna see it?

I took the time to meditate on certain verses in the passage. I tend to speed through stuff, but stopping to investigate the meaning behind scripture (with the Holy Spirit) is incredible. The Word affects me deeply this way. It comes alive, makes sense and applies to my life at the core.

I prayed over these ideas and found some simple and comforting truth revealed.

1) God hears me.

2) God is with me regardless of location or condition.

3) Good or bad, He knows my thoughts and my heart.

4) He protects me from evil.

5) Nothing is too heavy or deep or dark for God.

6) He made me and so I’m infinitely valuable.

7) The Lord is lovingly perfecting my inside and out.
